Computational Thinking in New Ways of Making
This site illustrates students course projects developed in the courses conducted by Birgul Çolakoglu at ITU Faculty of Architecture.
SPECIAL TOPICS IN ARCHITECTURE COURSES
Computational Thinking in design is introduced as a new thought process in design making in Spatial Topics in Architecture courses. Here, shape grammars are used as a tool in introducing computational thinking to design students.
DIGITAL ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN STUDIO
The course introduces students to concepts and techniques in computational design. It aims at training graduates with the ability to design, optimize, model, and build utilizing hybrid methodologies of design such as sketching, physical modeling, material research, computational design, data integration into design optimization, design for disassembly, and fabrication.
